COIA Professional Background

COIA was established in 1984 as a trade, consulting and engineering company and entered the field of high speed and eco-friendly UV-technology in 1990.

Since then, our processing of glass fibres ( optical and composite ) with UV-technology as well as R&D in machinery design and development of UV-curable materials have been driven by the worldwide demand for Optical Fibre Cables and Reinforced Composites ( FRP ).

At that time we have started to develop the first UV-Curable Composite Machine in Europe to produce Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Rod. We have extensive experience in the setting up and commissioning of production facilities in the composite sector.

In 1994 we have implemented a quality management system and were certified by DQS according to ISO 9001 for equipment design and glass fibre processing and re-certified in 1997. TÜV-Süd has up-to-date certified our quality as well as environmental management systems DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2009 for development, production and sales of UV-curable inks, resins and coating materials for the processing of optical and composite glass fibres.

Furthermore, our company provided services to different customers in the various industrial areas such as for automotive parts (headlamp lenses), surface lamination (wood, plastics)…etc., e.g. machinery, equipment, process engineering and UV-curable material. With our own patents we have created a special means of technology transfer to our customers.

COIA's ability to design novel and unique equipment together with the utilisation of high speed and eco-friendly UV-curing systems have led to the versatility of cost effective processing of glass fibres ( optical and composite ) with high output to the benefit of our customers / licensees .

We have committed ourselves to providing total customer satisfaction. Main features of our Customer Care Policy are research and development with regard to complex formulations, designing machinery and venturing into new technologies. COIA’s strength is the qualified customer support, based on 25 years of technical know-how in the three relevant areas:

• chemistry
• equipment design and manufacturing
• process technology

In 2010 we have started to design and develop pressure vessels such as LPG composite cylinders, developing of a highly automated winding process with integration of different process stages to increase the productivity and profitability, as it is at the same time cost efficient and shows a reduction in processing times. Manufacturing of the composite machine is done by COIA Germany like also setting up and commissioning including training of the staff for a complete plant. For the new products and manufacturing process we have submitted our patent application to the German authority for international patent.

With this new technology we replace the previous 50 years old technology.

A certification of pressure vessels with TÜV Germany according to R67 (LPG), DIN-ISO-11119, DIN-EN 12245 and DIN-EN 14427 including the execution of release tests for pressure vessels (LPG) in the production plant by COIA.
